Crispy Tempe Fritters with Garlic and Shallots

Tempe Tepung (Fried Tempe with Flour)

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Tempe (cut into small cubes) 1/2 block (approximately 200g)
Garlic (crushed) 1 clove
Shallots (crushed) 2 cloves
Seasoning/ sugar To taste
Salt To taste
All-purpose flour As needed
Water As needed
Cooking oil For frying

Instructions:

  1. Start by crushing the garlic and shallots together until fine, then set them aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the tempe, all-purpose flour, and the crushed garlic and shallots. Add seasoning or sugar and salt to taste. Gradually add water, mixing until the batter becomes thick and cohesive.
  3. Heat the cooking oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter into the oil, frying them until golden brown and crisp.
  4. Once the tempe pieces are fully cooked and have reached a crispy, golden-brown color, remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve warm as a tasty snack or appetizer!
