Tempe Nuggets Recipe

Ingredients

Tempe 2 pieces
Egg 1 whole
Grated Carrots 2 pieces
Chopped Celery/Green Onions To taste
Garlic 3 cloves
Ground Coriander To taste
All-Purpose Flour 10 tablespoons
Water As needed
Cooking Oil For frying
Chicken Broth Powder To taste
Salt To taste
Breadcrumbs As needed
Sauce/Mayo For serving

Instructions

  1. Begin by crushing the tempe in a mortar until it reaches a smooth consistency.
  2. Once the tempe is softened, mix in the grated carrots, minced garlic, chopped celery, salt, chicken broth powder, and ground coriander.
  3. Incorporate the egg and 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, kneading the mixture until it holds together well.
  4. Shape the mixture into nuggets according to your preference, then steam them for approximately 20 minutes.
  5. For the batter, take the remaining all-purpose flour, add a pinch of salt or chicken broth powder, and gradually mix in water until it achieves a thick consistency.
  6. Once the tempe nuggets have cooled slightly, dip them into the batter, then coat them with breadcrumbs.
  7. Heat the cooking oil in a pan and fry the nuggets until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Serve your delicious tempe nuggets warm with your choice of sauce or mayonnaise for dipping. Enjoy!
