Stir-fried Tempeh with Green Beans

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Tempeh 2 blocks, cut into small cubes
Green beans 10 sticks, cut into 2 cm pieces, rinsed thoroughly
Garlic cloves 5 cloves, thinly sliced
Red chilies 5 pieces, thinly sliced
Ginger 1 cm piece, thinly sliced
Salt To taste
Pepper To taste
Soy sauce 1 tablespoon, or as preferred
Oyster sauce (Saori brand suggested) 1/2 tablespoon
Cooking oil As needed for frying

Instructions

  1. Fry the Tempeh

    • Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a pan. Add the tempeh cubes and fry them until they turn golden and crispy. Set aside. (I personally like mine a little extra crispy for added texture 😊)
  2. Sauté the Aromatics

    • In the same pan, remove excess oil and leave a little for sautéing. Add the sliced garlic, ginger, and red chilies to the pan. Stir-fry until the mixture becomes fragrant and lightly golden.
  3. Add Sauces and Seasonings

    • Pour in the oyster sauce and soy sauce into the pan. Stir well to coat the aromatics evenly.
  4. Stir-fry the Green Beans

    • Toss in the cut green beans. Stir and cook for a few minutes until they are tender but still slightly crisp. Add salt and pepper to taste, adjusting to your preference. Remember to taste as you go!
  5. Combine with Tempeh

    • Lastly, add the fried tempeh back into the pan. Stir everything together until the tempeh and green beans are evenly coated with the sauce and seasonings.
  6. Final Taste Check & Serve

    • Taste one last time to ensure all the flavors are balanced. Adjust seasonings if necessary. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Stir-fried Tempeh with Green Beans!

This simple and flavorful dish pairs beautifully with warm steamed rice or can be enjoyed on its own as a healthy, satisfying meal.
