Sambal Ingredients:
Red curly chilies 5 pieces
Bird’s eye chilies 5 pieces
Fried garlic 1 clove

Instructions

  1. Begin by soaking the tempe in a mixture of water, salt, Royco seasoning, and garlic powder, allowing it to absorb the flavors for about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Heat the cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat, then fry the tempe until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  3. For the sambal, combine the red curly chilies, bird’s eye chilies, and fried garlic in a mortar and pestle or food processor. Grind until you achieve a smooth paste.
  4. Add salt, sugar, and Royco seasoning to the sambal mixture, adjusting to taste.
  5. Gently fold in the fried tempe, ensuring each piece is coated with the sambal.
