Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Begin by slicing the onions into medium pieces and set them aside.

  2. Sauté Spices: In a pan, heat 1 teaspoon of sunflower oil. Add the cumin seeds and dry red chillies, sautéing for a few seconds until fragrant. Next, add the black urad dal and continue to sauté until it turns a lovely golden yellow. Once done, transfer this mixture to a small dish and let it cool.

  3. Cook the Onions: In the same pan, add another teaspoon of oil and the chopped onions. Sauté them well for about 4 to 5 minutes, until the raw smell disappears. Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool.
