Paneer Kofta Curry Recipe

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Kofta:
    In a mixing bowl, combine the grated paneer, all-purpose flour, salt, fresh coriander, and cumin powder. Mix thoroughly until well combined. Form the mixture into small balls.

  2. Cooking the Kofta:
    You can either bake or fry the paneer balls:

    • Baking Method: Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F). Grease a baking sheet with oil and arrange the paneer balls on it. Bake until they turn golden brown. Remove from the oven and set aside.
    • Frying Method: Heat a paniyaram pan, adding a little oil in each cavity. Once hot, gently place the paneer balls and cook until golden brown on both sides, turning them with a spoon. Remove and set aside.
  3. Making the Curry:
    In a deep pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add honey and grated ginger, cooking until the honey bubbles. Once boiling, incorporate the tomato puree, turmeric, coriander powder, garam masala, salt, and red chili powder. Stir well and cook until the tomatoes soften.

  4. Finishing Touches:
    Mix in the hung yogurt or cream and kasuri methi, stirring to combine. After a minute, gently add the fried or baked paneer balls into the gravy. Cover and let it simmer for 3-4 minutes. Turn off the heat.

  5. Serving Suggestions:
    Serve your luscious Paneer Kofta Curry warm, accompanied by Bundi Raita and Lacha Paratha for a complete and satisfying meal.
