Balado Tuna Recipe

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Tuna (tongkol) 100 grams (1 ons)
Instant Balado Seasoning 1 packet
Shallots (Bawang Merah) 3 pieces
Garlic (Bawang Putih) 2 cloves
Tomatoes 1 medium, chopped
Sugar To taste
Royco Seasoning To taste
Cooking Oil For sautéing

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Aromatics: Blend the shallots, garlic, and tomatoes until smooth.
  2. Sauté the Mixture: Heat a little cooking oil in a pan over medium heat, then sauté the blended mixture until fragrant.
  3. Add Instant Seasoning: Stir in the instant Balado seasoning and cook until the spices are well combined.
  4. Reserve Some Sauce: Set aside a portion of the sautéed spice mixture for future use; this can be stored in the fridge.
  5. Cook the Tuna: In the remaining spice mixture in the pan, add a little water, then gently place the tuna in. Add sugar and Royco seasoning to taste.
  6. Simmer: Allow the tuna to cook thoroughly, ensuring it’s well coated in the sauce.
  7. Serve: Enjoy your Balado Tuna with steamed rice for a complete meal.

Note: The quantity of the spice mixture is suitable for up to 500 grams of tuna; however, for a smaller portion, just use about 1 tablespoon of seasoning for 100 grams of tuna. Enjoy your flavorful dish!
