Mini Brioches (Bread Machine)

Description

These delightful Mini Brioches, adapted from Classic Home Cooking, are a delectable treat that pairs beautifully with a steaming bowl of soup. This salt-free recipe features a rich, buttery flavor, making them perfect for brunch or any meal. While the original recipe calls for 12 small molds, using 6 larger ones creates a more generous serving. Note that the preparation time does not include the dough rising period.

Instructions

  1. Begin by adding the ingredients to your bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer.
  2. Select the Dough cycle and set the size to 1 lb.
  3. After 5 minutes, check the dough consistency; if it feels too dry, add one tablespoon of water at a time, and if it’s too wet, add one tablespoon of flour until the dough forms a ball and is slightly sticky.
  4. While the dough is mixing, lightly oil 6 one-cup brioche molds and preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Once the dough cycle is complete, remove the dough and knead it gently on a floured surface.
  6. Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces and cut about a quarter from each piece.
  7. Shape the larger pieces into balls and place them into the prepared molds, pressing your finger into the center to create a small hole.
  8. Take the smaller pieces, place them over the holes, and press gently to seal.
  9. Cover the molds with a clean cloth and allow the brioches to rise in a warm location until they have doubled in size, which should take about 20 to 30 minutes.
  10. Once risen, brush the tops with a little milk to promote a golden finish during baking.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 5 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking until they are golden brown, approximately 15 minutes more.
  12. If the tops brown too quickly, cover them loosely with aluminum foil to prevent burning.
  13. The brioches are ready when they sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.

Enjoy your warm, buttery Mini Brioches, perfect for sharing or savoring all by yourself!
