Instructions

  1. Prepare the Batter
Begin by preparing or purchasing the idli dosa batter. Ensure it is well-mixed and smooth. If using a store-bought batter, make sure it’s at room temperature.

  2. Add the Green Chutney
In a large mixing bowl, combine the idli dosa batter with the green chutney. Stir well until the batter takes on a uniform green color, ensuring the minty flavors are evenly distributed.

  3. Prepare the Idli Steamer
Pour water into the idli steamer and let it come to a gentle boil. Grease the idli plates lightly with ghee or oil to prevent the batter from sticking.

  4. Steam the Idlis
Carefully pour the green-tinted batter into the greased idli molds, filling each mold to about 3/4 full. Cover the steamer and steam the idlis for 10–12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  5. Check for Doneness
Insert a toothpick to check if the idlis are fully cooked. If it comes out clean, turn off the heat and let the idlis cool for a couple of minutes.

  6. Serve
Remove the idlis from the steamer and transfer them to a serving plate. Drizzle a small amount of ghee on each idli for added flavor.

Enjoy your Pudina Idli with a side of medu vada, coconut chutney, and filter coffee for an authentic South Indian breakfast experience!
