Instructions

  1. Preheat the Grill or Broiler
Begin by preheating your grill or broiler. Whether you’re using a gas grill or your oven’s broiler setting, make sure it’s ready to cook the toast to a perfect golden brown.

  2. Prepare the Garlic Butter Mixture
In a small bowl, combine the unsalted butter, minced garlic, and Creole Essence (or Bayou Blast seasoning). Stir the mixture until smooth and evenly blended, ensuring the garlic and seasoning are well-distributed in the butter.

  3. Toast the Bread
Place your slices of Texas toast onto the grill or broiler. Cook until the first side turns a light golden color, about 2-3 minutes, depending on your heat source.

  4. Spread the Seasoned Butter
Once the first side of the bread is lightly toasted, remove the slices and spread approximately 1 tablespoon of the seasoned garlic butter onto the toasted side of each slice.

  5. Toast the Other Side
Return the bread to the grill or broiler and cook until the bottom side is lightly toasted, and the garlic butter has fully melted across the top, allowing the flavors to seep into the bread. This should take an additional 1-2 minutes.

  6. Cut and Serve
Once the toast is beautifully golden and the garlic butter has melted, remove the slices from the grill or broiler. Cut each slice diagonally into halves for an elegant presentation.

  7. Enjoy Immediately
Serve the Texas Toast hot, straight from the grill or broiler. It’s the perfect side dish for a variety of meals, or even as a tasty snack on its own.

This Texas Toast, Ala Emeril is a fantastic addition to any meal, whether you’re serving it with a hearty soup, a grilled steak, or a fresh salad. Its rich garlic butter flavor and the kick from Creole seasoning make it a crowd-pleaser that everyone will enjoy. Ready in just 15 minutes, it’s a quick and satisfying dish that’s sure to impress.
