Bhel Puri with Raw Mango Recipe
Course: Snack
Cuisine: North Indian
Diet: Vegetarian
Servings: 2
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 0 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Puffed rice 2 cups
Onion (peeled and finely chopped) 1
Tomato (deseeded and finely chopped) 1
Raw Mango (diced) 1/2 cup
Coriander leaves (minced) 3 sprigs
Raw Peanuts (roasted) 3 tablespoons
Yellow Moong Dal (Split) (optional, fried) 2 tablespoons
Lahsun Ki Chutney (Red Garlic Chutney) 1 1/2 tablespoons
Green Chutney (Coriander & Mint) 1 tablespoon
Sweet Chutney (Date & Tamarind) 1 1/2 tablespoons
Salt To taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Raw Mango:
Begin by sprinkling a pinch of salt and red chili powder on the diced raw mango pieces. Set them aside to marinate for a few minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse.

  2. Combine the Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, add the chopped onion, chopped tomato, puffed rice, and roasted peanuts. Follow with the addition of Lahsun Ki Chutney, green chutney, and the sweet date and tamarind chutney.

  3. Mix the Ingredients:
Gently toss the ingredients together to combine, ensuring that each piece of puffed rice is coated with the chutneys and seasonings.

  4. Add the Mango and Garnish:
Add the marinated raw mango pieces (masala mango) to the mixture and toss again. Taste and adjust the seasoning with more salt, if needed.

  5. Finish and Serve:
Add the fresh chopped coriander, sev, and fried yellow moong dal (if using). Toss everything together gently one last time.

  6. Serve Immediately:
Serve the Bhel Puri with Raw Mango immediately to enjoy its crisp texture. Pair it with a steaming cup of Masala Chai during your tea break or serve it as part of a chaat spread along with other favorites like Sev Puri or Dahi Bhalla Puri for a fun and festive weekend gathering.

Tips for Serving:

  • This snack is best enjoyed fresh, as the puffed rice tends to lose its crunch if left to sit for too long.
  • Customize the chutneys according to your preference for more or less spice.
  • You can also add a dash of chaat masala for an extra layer of flavor.

Enjoy this delightful Bhel Puri with Raw Mango, a refreshing and tangy snack that’s perfect for any time of the day!
