Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).

  2. Prepare the Baking Pan: Grease only the bottom of a 13″ x 9″ baking pan with a small amount of butter or non-stick spray.

  3. Make the Crust: In a medium bowl, combine all crust ingredients (butter, margarine, milk, and egg). Stir well until everything is fully incorporated. Press the mixture evenly into the prepared pan.

  4. Bake the Crust: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown. Be sure not to overbake, as the crust will become too hard. Allow the crust to cool completely on a wire rack.

  5. Prepare the Peanut Butter Filling: In a separate medium bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups of peanut butter with 1 cup of powdered sugar. Use a hand mixer on low speed to blend the ingredients together until the mixture is crumbly and well mixed. Set aside.

  6. Make the Creamy Filling: In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth using your hand mixer. Gradually add 2 1/2 cups of milk, the thawed whipped topping, and the instant vanilla pudding mix. Mix on low speed for 2 minutes, or until the filling is thick and well combined.

  7. Layer the Dessert: Once the crust has cooled, spread half of the creamy filling mixture evenly over the crust. Sprinkle half of the peanut butter mixture on top of the filling. Repeat with the remaining creamy filling and peanut butter mixture.

  8. Top and Chill: Sprinkle the top with the remaining 1/2 cup of peanuts and the grated chocolate. Refrigerate the dessert for 3-4 hours to allow it to set and firm up. For a quicker option, you can freeze the dessert for an hour, then refrigerate.
