Falsa/Phalsa Ka Sharbat (Indian Berry Juice)

Description:
Falsa/Phalsa Ka Sharbat is a refreshing Indian berry juice made from Falsa (Indian berry), scientifically known as Grewia asiatica. This tropical fruit, popular in India and Pakistan, creates a cooling and tangy beverage, perfect for hot days.

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams Falsa (or Phalsa)
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon Roasted Cumin Powder (Jeera)
  • 2 teaspoons Black Salt (Kala Namak)
  • 1 tablespoon Mint Leaves (Pudina), chopped
  • Lemon wedges, for garnish

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 35 minutes

Instructions:

  1. Start by washing the Falsa fruit thoroughly. Mash it using a spatula until the pulp is separated from the seeds.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed Falsa, black salt, roasted cumin powder, sugar, and a little water. Grind the mixture in a blender until smooth.
  3. Once the mixture is blended, strain it through a sieve into a large bowl to extract the juice.
  4. Add water to the juice according to your preferred consistency.
  5. Serve the Falsa juice in glasses, adding ice cubes and garnishing with chopped mint leaves and a lemon wedge.
