Avarekalu Usli Recipe

Ingredients:
- 2 cups Avarekalu (fresh or frozen)
- 1 Onion, finely chopped
- 3 Green chilies, finely chopped
- 1-inch Ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp Garlic, grated
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice
- A pinch of Asafoetida
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- Salt, to taste
For Tempering:
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp White urad dal
- A few Curry leaves
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Instructions:
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add mustard seeds and white urad dal, allowing them to crackle.
- Once the seeds crackle, add curry leaves, green chilies, ginger, garlic, and onions. Sauté until the onions soften.
- Add the Avarekalu and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
- Stir in turmeric powder and salt, and cook for an additional minute.
- Add lemon juice, close the cooker, and cook for 2 whistles.
- Let the pressure release naturally.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
- Serve Avarekalu Usli with Laccha Paratha and Boondi Raita for a complete meal.
