Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 40 minutes
Instructions
-
Make the Koftas:
In a mixing bowl, combine grated paneer, all-purpose flour, salt, chopped coriander, and cumin powder. Mix well to form a dough-like consistency. Divide the mixture into small portions and roll into balls. -
Cook the Koftas:
You can either bake or pan-fry the koftas:- Baking Method: Preheat the oven to 200°C. Grease a baking sheet with oil and arrange the paneer balls on it. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Paniyaram Pan Method: Heat the paniyaram pan and add a little oil to each cavity. Place the paneer balls in the cavities and cook on both sides until golden and crisp. Remove and set aside.
-
Prepare the Gravy:
Heat oil in a pan and add grated ginger and honey. Cook until the honey starts to bubble. Add the tomato puree, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, and salt. Cook the mixture until the tomatoes soften and the oil begins to separate from the gravy. -
Finish the Gravy:
Add hung yogurt (or cream) and kasuri methi to the gravy. Stir well and cook for a minute to combine the flavors. -
Combine Koftas and Gravy:
Gently add the prepared paneer koftas to the gravy. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes. Once the koftas are well coated and cooked through, remove from the heat. -
Serving:
Serve the Paneer Kofta Curry hot, garnished with fresh coriander. This dish pairs wonderfully with Boondi Raita and Lachha Paratha for a satisfying meal.
