Raw Banana Chivda Recipe

Description:
Raw Banana Chivda is a delicious sweet and sour snack made from grated raw bananas, roasted nuts, and a blend of aromatic spices. Perfect for an evening snack or as a snack box treat, it can also be enjoyed during fasting days by using rock salt instead of regular salt.

Cuisine: Indian
Course: Snack
Diet: Vegetarian

Ingredients:

  • 2 raw bananas
  • 1/3 cup peanuts
  • 10 curry leaves
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon raisins
  • 7 cashews
  • 7 almonds
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon caster sugar
  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Oil, as needed (for frying)

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 35 minutes

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Wash and peel the raw bananas, then grate them directly into the pan. Fry the grated bananas in batches, until golden and crispy. Once fried, transfer them to a kitchen paper to absorb excess oil. Set them aside.
  2. In the same pan, add the peanuts, cashews, and almonds. Cook until they turn golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. Fry the green chillies and curry leaves in the same pan until crispy, then set them aside.
  4. Add the raisins to the hot oil and fry them until they puff up. Remove and set aside.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the fried ingredients. Add salt, red chilli powder, chaat masala, and caster sugar. Mix well to evenly coat everything.
  6. Let the mixture cool, then serve.

Enjoy your Raw Banana Chivda with a cup of masala tea or filter coffee for a satisfying evening snack!
