Chocolate Toast with Pumpkin & Sunflower Seeds

This Chocolate Toast with Pumpkin & Sunflower Seeds is a delightful treat with a rich spread of melted dark chocolate, topped with a variety of crunchy seeds. A perfect snack for any time of the day.

Ingredients:

  • 5 slices Whole Wheat Brown Bread
  • 2 tbsp Butter (Salted), softened
  • 5 tsp Pumpkin Seeds
  • 1 tbsp Sunflower Seeds
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds (Til Seeds)
  • 1 tbsp Flax Seeds
  • 1/2 cup Dark Chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Cream
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes

Instructions:

  1. Begin by trimming the edges of the whole wheat brown bread and cutting it diagonally into triangles. Set aside.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, add the fresh cream and dark chocolate chunks. Stir continuously until the chocolate has melted and a creamy consistency forms. Once melted, stir in the vanilla extract and remove from heat.
  3. Toast the bread slices in a toaster until they turn crisp and golden. Spread a layer of butter on the toasted slices and set aside.
  4. In a skillet over medium heat, toast the pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, and flax seeds for about two minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  5. Place the buttered and toasted bread slices on a serving platter. Spread the melted dark chocolate over each slice and sprinkle with the toasted seeds.
  6. Serve the Chocolate Toast with Toasted Seeds as a snack or breakfast, paired with a hot cup of coffee. This recipe is also a great evening snack for kids.
