Preparation Time: 25 minutes
Cooking Time: 25 minutes
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Momo Dough:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt.
- Gradually add water, a little at a time, and knead until a smooth and soft dough forms.
- Cover with a damp cloth and set aside for 15 minutes to rest.
-
Prepare the Chicken Filling:
- Heat a pan over medium heat. Add the chicken cubes and cook them until tender and fully cooked through.
- Once cooked, shred the chicken using a fork or chop it into smaller pieces.
- In a bowl, mix the shredded chicken with fresh cream, tandoori masala, garam masala, cumin powder, red chilli powder, chaat masala, salt, and lemon juice. Stir well to combine.
-
Shape the Momos:
- Take the dough and divide it into small equal portions. Roll each portion into a small ball and then flatten it with your fingers or a rolling pin to form a thin round disc.
- Place a spoonful of the chicken filling in the center of each disc.
- Carefully fold the edges of the disc and pleat them to form a momo. Pinch the top to seal.
-
Prepare the Tandoori Sauce:
- In a small bowl, mix tandoori masala and red chilli sauce to make the tandoori sauce.
-
Steam the Momos:
- Grease a steamer basket with a little oil and arrange the momos in it, ensuring they do not touch each other.
- Steam the momos for about 15-20 minutes or until the dough is cooked through and soft.
-
Serve:
- Once steamed, brush the momos with the tandoori sauce for an extra burst of flavor.
- Serve hot with a side of spicy chutney or dipping sauce.
Enjoy the crispy, spicy, and flavorful Tandoori Chicken Momos as a delicious appetizer!
