Ingredients:

For the Bread

  • 1 Bagel, cut into halves
  • 1 Whole Egg
  • 4 tablespoons Milk
  • Salt, to taste

Other Ingredients

  • 3 Bacon strips
  • 1 Tomato, sliced
  • 2 Arugula leaves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil (for drizzling)
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • Salt and Pepper, for seasoning

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and allow it to warm up for about 10 minutes.

  2. Bake the Bacon: Arrange the bacon strips on a baking tray and place them in the oven. Bake for about 15 minutes or until the bacon becomes crispy.

  3. Prepare the French Toast: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the whole egg, milk, and a pinch of salt until well combined. Cut the bagel into halves.

  4. Fry the Bagel: Heat a small amount of oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Dip each bagel half into the egg mixture, ensuring the bread is fully coated. Once coated, place it in the hot pan. Toast the bread for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until light golden brown. Repeat with the second slice.

  5. Melt the Cheese: Once the bread is toasted, sprinkle cheese over the top of each slice and place them in the oven to melt the cheese for 2-3 minutes.

  6. Assemble the Sandwich: Remove the bread from the oven. Place sliced tomatoes over one toasted bagel slice. Layer with crispy bacon strips, followed by chopped arugula. Season with dried oregano, salt, and pepper.

  7. Finish the Sandwich: Cover the open sandwich with the second slice of French toast bagel.
