Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Green peas (Matar), blanched
  • 4 Whole Wheat Brown Bread slices
  • 1 Green Chilli
  • 2 teaspoons Coriander Powder (Dhania)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Amchur (Dry Mango Powder)
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Jeera)
  • 2 teaspoons Oil
  • Salt, to taste

For the Yogurt Spread:

  • 1/2 cup Hung Curd (Greek Yogurt)
  • 1/2 cup Coriander (Dhania) Leaves, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper powder
  • Salt, to taste

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Yogurt Spread:
    In a bowl, combine the hung curd, chopped coriander leaves, black pepper powder, and salt. Mix well and refrigerate while you prepare the sandwich filling.

  2. Blanch the Green Peas:
    Boil water in a saucepan. Once boiling, switch off the heat and add the green peas. Cover and let it sit for 2 minutes. Drain the water and set the peas aside.

  3. Cook the Peas Filling:
    Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle. Add the green chili, coriander powder, black pepper powder, and blanched green peas. Season with salt and cook, mixing well to coat the peas with spices. Add garam masala and amchur powder, and sauté for another minute. Remove from heat.

  4. Toast the Bread:
    Toast the whole wheat bread slices in a toaster until golden and crispy.

  5. Assemble the Sandwiches:
    Spread a layer of the chilled yogurt mixture on one slice of toasted bread. Add a portion of the prepared green peas filling and top with another bread slice, spread with yogurt. Press lightly and cut into triangles.

  6. Serve:
    Serve your Green Peas Sandwich with nuts and pear slices for breakfast or pack it for a lunchbox. It pairs wonderfully with Masala Chai or Espresso Coffee for a delightful tea-time snack.
