Cuisine: Indian
Course: Dessert
Diet: Vegetarian
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Roasted Gram Dal (Pottukadalai)
- 1/4 cup Jaggery, crushed
- 1 teaspoon Cardamom Powder (Elaichi)
- 1/4 cup Flax Seed Powder (freshly ground flax meal)
- 1/4 cup Almond Meal (Badam Powder)
- 1/4 cup Ghee
- 5 tablespoons Ghee (additional, for binding)
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Instructions:
- Begin by dry roasting the roasted gram dal until it releases a fragrant aroma and slightly changes color. Allow it to cool before grinding it into a fine powder.
- Keep the other ingredients powdered and ready: jaggery, cardamom powder, flax seed powder, almond meal, and ghee.
- In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients: roasted gram dal powder, jaggery, cardamom powder, flax seed powder, almond meal, and ghee.
- Use your hands to knead the mixture until it forms a ball-like mass. The warmth from your hands will help bind the ingredients together. Avoid adding too much ghee, but feel free to add more if necessary.
- Once the mixture holds together well, roll it into lemon-sized balls.
- Store the prepared ladoos in an airtight container and refrigerate them to keep fresh.
- Serve your Flax Seed Ladoos as a dessert during festivals or as a healthy snack with a hot cup of Masala Chai or Filter Coffee.
Enjoy this wholesome, protein-packed treat that not only tastes delicious but also provides a natural energy boost!
