Ingredients:

  • 1 cup green moong dal
  • 1/2 cup rice
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 inch ginger, grated
  • Oil (as needed)
  • Salt, to taste

Preparation Time: 60 minutes

Cooking Time: 40 minutes

Instructions:

  1. Soak: Wash the moong dal and rice thoroughly. Soak them separately in water for about 6 hours.

  2. Grind: After soaking, drain the water. Rub the moong dal gently between your palms to peel it. In a mixer grinder, combine the peeled moong dal, rice, green chillies, onion, cumin seeds, grated ginger, and 1/4 cup of water. Grind until you get a smooth batter. Add salt and mix well.

  3. Cook: Heat a pan over medium heat. Pour a little oil on the pan, and then pour the moong dal mixture to make round dosas. Spread the batter gently to form a thin layer. Drizzle some oil around the edges.

  4. Flip: Cook the dosa on both sides until golden and crispy. Once done, remove from the pan.

  5. Serve: Serve the Moong Dal Dosa hot with your choice of carrot chutney and filter coffee for a traditional South Indian breakfast experience.

Enjoy this diabetic-friendly dish, packed with flavor and nutrition, as a wholesome start to your day!
