Chocolate Covered Stuffed Figs

Category: Desserts
Servings: 14

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Dried Figs 14
Dark Chocolate 300g
Blanched Almonds 4
Walnuts 5
Whole, Skinned Hazelnuts 5

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Figs: Start by carefully opening the back of each dried fig to create a pocket. Stuff each fig with one walnut and one hazelnut. Be gentle to keep the figs intact while adding the filling.

  2. Melt the Chocolate: Break 200g of dark chocolate into small pieces and melt it. You can do this in the microwave by heating it in short intervals of 15–20 seconds, stirring in between. Alternatively, melt the chocolate using a double boiler. Heat until it reaches a temperature of about 45°C (113°F).

  3. Add the Remaining Chocolate: Once the 200g of chocolate is fully melted, add the remaining 100g of chocolate to the melted mixture. Stir until it has completely melted, creating a smooth, glossy chocolate coating.

  4. Coat the Figs: Using a fork, dip each stuffed fig into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully covered. Let any excess chocolate drip off.

  5. Place on a Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or acetate. Carefully place each coated fig onto the sheet, making sure they are spaced apart to prevent sticking together.

  6. Let the Chocolate Set: Allow the chocolate-covered figs to cool and crystallize. You can place them in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to speed up the process.

  7. Serve: Once the chocolate has fully hardened, your chocolate-covered stuffed figs are ready to serve. Enjoy the sweet, nutty, and chocolatey treat!

These delicious figs make the perfect indulgent treat, combining rich chocolate, crunchy nuts, and sweet figs into one irresistible dessert!
