Extra virgin olive oil | 2 tbsp |
Tahini | 1 tbsp |
Fresh parsley | 1 bunch |
Sweet paprika | 1 tsp |
Fine salt | to taste |
Black pepper | to taste |
Garlic | 1 clove |
Lemon juice | ½ lemon |
Instructions
-
Prepare the Lentils: Begin by checking if the dried lentils you are using need soaking. If so, place them in cold water and let them soak for 7-8 hours. After soaking, drain the lentils and rinse them thoroughly.
-
Cook the Lentils: Transfer the rinsed lentils into a large pot. Cover them with fresh water and cook over medium heat for approximately 45 minutes, or until they are tender and soft.
-
Blend the Hummus: Once the lentils are cooked, drain them and place them into a blender or food processor. Add the garlic, parsley, tahini, sweet paprika, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
-
Blend to Perfection: Blend the mixture on high for about 1 minute, or until it forms a smooth, creamy texture.
-
Serve: Once blended, transfer the lentil hummus to a serving dish. Garnish with additional parsley, a sprinkle of paprika, or a drizzle of olive oil if desired. Serve with pita bread, vegetable sticks, or as a spread for sandwiches.
Enjoy your nutritious and delicious lentil hummus! It’s a perfect dip for parties, a healthy snack, or a savory addition to any meal.
Tip: You can adjust the texture by adding a bit of water if the hummus is too thick. If you prefer a spicier kick, feel free to add some chili flakes or cumin.
