Apple, Carrot & Ginger Smoothie

Wildflower Honey 20g

Evelina Apples (additional) 100g
Lemon Juice 1 (to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Frozen Banana: Start by placing the bananas in the freezer and allow them to freeze. This will give your smoothie a thicker texture and a refreshing chill.

  2. Prep the Apples: Wash the apples thoroughly, then slice them in half. Remove the core, and chop them into pieces. Place the apple pieces into a bowl, and drizzle with a bit of orange juice to prevent them from browning.

  3. Carrot Preparation: Wash the carrots, trim off both ends, and chop them into large chunks. This makes them easier to blend into a smooth consistency.

  4. Ginger Prep: Peel the ginger root. This fresh ginger will add a lovely zesty kick to your smoothie.

  5. Frozen Banana: Once frozen, peel the banana and chop it into smaller pieces. This frozen banana will create a creamy base for your smoothie.

  6. Blending the Smoothie: Add the apples with orange juice, chopped carrots, frozen banana pieces, and yogurt into the blender. Blend until smooth and creamy. If the consistency is too thick, add a little more orange juice or water to reach your desired texture.

  7. Toast the Almonds & Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a dry skillet, lightly toast the sliced almonds, chia seeds, and corn flakes for a few minutes. Add the muscovado sugar to the skillet, stirring gently to combine the ingredients and allow the sugar to melt slightly. Once done, pour the mixture into a bowl to cool.

  8. Final Touches: Chop the remaining 100g of apples into small pieces, and drizzle them with a little lemon juice to prevent oxidation. The lemon juice also adds a fresh flavor to balance the smoothie.

  9. Assemble the Smoothie: Pour the blended smoothie into 4 bowls. Top each serving with the toasted almond, chia seed, corn flake mixture, and the freshly chopped apple pieces.
