Description:

Indulge in the delightful world of homemade marzipan with this easy-to-follow recipe. Marzipan, a traditional European treat, is a versatile candy that can be shaped into various forms and enjoyed on its own or used to decorate cakes and pastries.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 1/3 cups ground almonds
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 1/4 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 tablespoon egg white (approximately)
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions:

Step Description
1 Place almonds in a blender container or food processor bowl. Cover and blend or process until finely ground.
2 In a mixer bowl, combine the ground almonds, 1 cup confectioners’ sugar, almond extract, and 2 tablespoons water. Beat with an electric mixer until the mixture forms a cohesive ball.
3 Gradually add the remaining 2 1/4 cups confectioners’ sugar, beating until well combined.
4 Stir in enough egg white (about 1 tablespoon) to achieve a clay-like consistency.
5 If desired, add food coloring to tint the marzipan.
6 Mold or shape the marzipan as desired, using about 2 teaspoons for each shape.
