Once marinated, heat a generous amount of sunflower oil in a heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat. When the oil is hot, add the cloves, cardamom pods, bay leaves, finely chopped garlic, and grated ginger, sautéing them for a few seconds until they release their aromatic oils.
