Cooking Time

Instructions

  1. Soaking the Dal: Start by soaking the green moong dal in 3 cups of water for at least 1 hour.

  2. Cooking the Dal: After soaking, drain the water and transfer the moong dal into a pressure cooker. Add grated ginger, chopped tomato, green chili, turmeric powder, salt, and sugar to the cooker. Stir the ingredients well and close the lid of the pressure cooker. Cook the dal on medium heat for 3-4 whistles. Once done, reduce the heat and allow the dal to cook for another 10 minutes. Turn off the heat and let the pressure naturally release.

  3. Preparing the Tempering (Tadka): While the dal is cooking, prepare the tempering in a separate pan. Heat ghee in the pan and add cumin seeds and dried red chili. Let the spices sizzle for about 10 seconds.

  4. Final Touch: Once the dal is cooked and the pressure has released, pour the prepared tempering into the cooked dal. Mix everything well and stir in fresh coriander and lemon juice for added freshness and flavor.

  5. Serving: Serve this delicious Dhaba Style Green Moong Dal Tadka hot with steamed rice, chapati, or paratha. It also pairs perfectly with a side of dry vegetable curry or a simple salad.

Enjoy your homemade Dhaba Style Green Moong Dal Tadka, an authentic and healthy dish full of flavor and protein, perfect for any lunch or dinner.
