Semur Daging Sapi
Ingredients:
- 1/2 kg beef, cut into desired pieces
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 5 shallots
- 1 packet of ground pepper (Ladaku)
- 1 packet of beef broth powder (Royco)
- 3 kaffir lime leaves
- 1 star anise
- 2 limes
- Sweet soy sauce, to taste
- Granulated sugar, to taste
- Water, as needed
Steps:
- Begin by cutting the beef into your preferred sizes. Rinse the beef thoroughly and marinate it with lime juice. Mix well and rinse once again.
- Boil the beef until it is half-cooked.
- While waiting for the beef to boil, prepare the other ingredients. Crush the garlic and then slice it thinly. Slice the shallots and onion as well.
- In a pan, sauté the sliced garlic, shallots, and onion until they become fragrant.
- Add the boiled beef, kaffir lime leaves, ground pepper (Ladaku), star anise, and nutmeg. Stir well to combine the flavors.
- Pour enough water into the pan until the beef is submerged. Add the beef broth powder (Royco), sweet soy sauce, and granulated sugar. Adjust the seasoning to your taste; you may add a pinch of salt if desired.
- Stir the mixture and taste it to ensure the flavors are well balanced. Allow it to simmer until the water reduces slightly but ensure that it does not dry out completely.
