Korean Beef Bulgogi Recipe
Servings: 2-3
Preparation Time: 1 hour (including marination)
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- 250 grams of Beef (thinly sliced, preferably semi-frozen for easier slicing)
- Butter or Margarine (for cooking, as needed)
For the Marinade:
- 2 cloves of Garlic, minced
- 1-2 tablespoons Sweet Soy Sauce (Kecap Manis)
- 1 teaspoon Paprika Powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Coarse Black Pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon Ground Ginger
- 1-2 teaspoons Oyster Sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
- 1/2 Onion, thinly sliced
- 1 stalk Green Onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon Toasted Sesame Seeds
- 1 teaspoon Honey
- 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
For Garnishing:
- 1/2 teaspoon Toasted Sesame Seeds
- 1 stalk Green Onion, chopped
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Beef:
- Place the beef in the freezer for about 20-30 minutes to make slicing easier. Once firm, thinly slice the beef against the grain.
-
Marinate the Beef:
- In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, sweet soy sauce, paprika powder, coarse black pepper, ground ginger, oyster sauce, salt, and sugar. Mix well.
- Add the thinly sliced onion, green onion, toasted sesame seeds, honey, and sesame oil. Stir until the beef is thoroughly coated with the marinade.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate. For best results, marinate the beef for at least 30 minutes. For deeper flavor, marinate overnight.
-
Cook the Beef:
- Heat a pan over medium heat and add a small amount of butter or margarine.
- Once the butter melts, add the marinated beef. Allow the beef to cook without stirring for a few minutes until it releases its juices. Stir occasionally, letting the liquid evaporate and the beef cook thoroughly, until it is tender and browned.
-
Garnish and Serve:
- Transfer the cooked beef to a serving plate. Sprinkle with additional toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onion for garnish.
