Korean-Style Bulgogi (Semur Daging Sapi ala Korea)
Ingredients:
- 350 grams of high-quality sirloin beef, sliced as thinly as possible
Marinade:
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon honey
- ½ tablespoon sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 teaspoon black pepper (I used Ladaku brand)
- ½ teaspoon beef bouillon powder
- 1 tablespoon toasted white sesame seeds
- 1 green onion, finely chopped
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Marinade:
In a covered bowl, combine the soy sauce, sugar, water, honey, sesame oil, minced garlic, black pepper, and beef bouillon powder. Stir well to ensure the sugar is dissolved and the ingredients are evenly mixed. -
Marinate the Beef:
Add the thinly sliced sirloin beef to the marinade. Stir thoroughly to coat each slice of beef evenly with the marinade. Cover the bowl with a lid or plastic wrap. -
Marinate:
Allow the beef to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. For best results, marinate overnight to allow the flavors to fully penetrate the meat. -
Cook the Beef:
Heat a non-stick skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef along with the marinade. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the liquid has evaporated and the beef is cooked through. This should take about 10-15 minutes. -
Finish and Serve:
Once the beef is cooked and the marinade has reduced to a glaze, sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onion over the top. Stir to combine and heat for an additional minute. -
Serve:
Transfer the cooked bulgogi to a serving dish and enjoy! Serve it with steamed rice or as part of a Korean-style meal.
Enjoy your delicious Korean-style bulgogi!
