Ingredients:

Ingredients Quantity
Pani Puris (crispy hollow puris) 30 pieces
Green Chutney (Coriander & Mint) 2 cups
Sweet Chutney (Date & Tamarind) 2 cups
Green Moong Dal (Whole, boiled) 1/4 cup
Boondi (crispy chickpea flour pearls) 1/4 cup

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Total Time: 30 minutes

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chutneys: Begin by preparing the green chutney and sweet chutney according to your preferred recipe or the one available on our website. These chutneys will be the soul of your Pani Puri, adding that signature flavor.

  2. Assemble the Filling: In a small bowl, sprinkle a little water on the khara boondi to soften it slightly. Then, mix the softened boondi with the boiled green moong dal. Stir well to ensure an even mixture.

  3. Prepare the Puri Shells: Gently make a small hole in the center of each puri using your thumb. Be careful as the puris are delicate and can break easily.

  4. Stuff the Puri: Add about 1/2 teaspoon of the moong dal and khara boondi mixture into each puri. Fill the puris generously with date tamarind chutney for a sweet touch, and then add the tangy green chutney.

  5. Serve: Immediately serve the stuffed puris, ensuring they remain crispy. For an enhanced chaat experience, serve these Mumbai Style Pani Puris alongside Sev Puri and Dahi Bhalla Papdi at your weekend chaat party.

Tips:

  • Be sure to serve the Pani Puri immediately after stuffing to maintain the crunchiness of the puris.
  • You can adjust the spiciness of the green chutney based on your preference.
  • For extra flavor, garnish the Pani Puri with fresh cilantro and a sprinkle of sev on top.
