Ingredients
- 5 apples 🍎
- 2 cups walnuts 🌰
- 1/3 cup brown sugar 🧁
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon 🌀
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger 🌱
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg 🥜
- 1/8 tsp ground cloves 🍃
- Juice of 1 lemon 🍋
- 1/4 cup water 💧
- 2 cups flour 🌾
- 1/4 cup brown sugar 🍬
- 1/2 tsp baking powder 🥄
- 5 tbsp margarine 🧈
- 1/2 cup rolled oats 🌾
- 1 cup soymilk 🥛
Instructions
Step | Description |

1. | Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). |
2. | Core and slice the apples thinly. |
3. | Mix sliced apples with walnuts, brown sugar, cinnamon, ground ginger, ground nutmeg, ground cloves, water, and lemon juice. |
4. | Layer the apple mixture into 8 small custard dishes or one large pie pan. |
5. | Prepare the topping: In a separate bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar, and baking powder. |
6. | Cut margarine into the flour mixture until the pieces are pea-sized. |
7. | Add soymilk and mix until the mixture is fairly dry and crumbly. |
8. | Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples. |
9. | Bake for 45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender. |
10. | Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of dairy-free ice cream or a dollop of whipped coconut cream. Enjoy! |
