Ingredients

  • 5 apples 🍎
  • 2 cups walnuts 🌰
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar 🧁
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon 🌀
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger 🌱
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg 🥜
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves 🍃
  • Juice of 1 lemon 🍋
  • 1/4 cup water 💧
  • 2 cups flour 🌾
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar 🍬
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder 🥄
  • 5 tbsp margarine 🧈
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats 🌾
  • 1 cup soymilk 🥛

Instructions

Step Description
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Core and slice the apples thinly.
3. Mix sliced apples with walnuts, brown sugar, cinnamon, ground ginger, ground nutmeg, ground cloves, water, and lemon juice.
4. Layer the apple mixture into 8 small custard dishes or one large pie pan.
5. Prepare the topping: In a separate bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar, and baking powder.
6. Cut margarine into the flour mixture until the pieces are pea-sized.
7. Add soymilk and mix until the mixture is fairly dry and crumbly.
8. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples.
9. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
10. Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of dairy-free ice cream or a dollop of whipped coconut cream. Enjoy!
