Corn & Paneer Baked Samosa Recipe is a perfect tea-time snack, especially during the monsoon season. These healthier baked samosas are filled with a savory mixture of corn and paneer, making them a delightful alternative to traditional deep-fried snacks. With their crispy outer crust and delicious filling, these samosas are perfect for satisfying those street food cravings while keeping things light and nutritious.

Ingredients:

For the Dough:

Ingredient Quantity
All Purpose Flour (Maida) 2 cups
Ghee 1/4 cup
Salt To taste
Ajwain (Carom Seeds) 1 teaspoon
Water To knead
All Purpose Flour (Maida) Extra for dusting

For the Filling:

Ingredient Quantity
Paneer (Homemade Cottage Cheese) 1 cup (crumbled)
Sweet Corn 3/4 cup
Black Pepper Powder 1 teaspoon
Salt To taste
Coriander (Dhania) Leaves 2 sprigs (chopped)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:

    • Begin by preparing the dough for the samosa wrappers. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour (maida) and salt.
    • Add the ghee (or softened butter) into the flour and mix it well using your fingers until you get a crumbly texture.
    • Gradually add water to the mixture, kneading as you go until you form a firm dough.
    • Once the dough comes together into a ball, cover it with a wet cloth and let it rest for about 30 minutes at room temperature.
  2. Prepare the Filling:

    • While the dough is resting, prepare the filling by combining the crumbled paneer, sweet corn, black pepper powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.
    • Stir in the chopped coriander leaves for added flavor, and set the filling aside.
  3. Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F). Grease an oven dish with 1 tablespoon of oil or butter to prevent sticking.
  4. Shape the Samosas:

    • Once the dough has rested, divide it into 20 equal-sized balls (about 1 inch in diameter each).
    • Roll each ball into a small circle. There are two ways you can shape the samosas:
      • Triangle Shape: Take the circle of dough and fold it into a triangle. Place a small amount of the filling in the center, then bring the edges together and seal them to form a pyramid shape.
      • Cone Shape: Alternatively, you can roll the dough into a circle, cut it in half to form two semi-circles, and fill one half with the paneer and corn mixture. Shape it into a cone and seal the edges.
    • Repeat this process with the rest of the dough and filling.
  5. Bake the Samosas:

    • Place the shaped samosas on the greased oven dish. Bake at 220°C (428°F) for 15-20 minutes, or until the samosas turn golden brown and crispy.
    • If you prefer deep-frying, you can fry them in hot oil until they are golden and crispy on all sides.
  6. Serve:

    • Serve your freshly baked Corn & Paneer Samosas with a side of green chutney or date and tamarind chutney for dipping. Enjoy them as a delicious tea-time snack with a cup of Ginger Cardamom Chai.

These Corn & Paneer Baked Samosas offer the same street food goodness but in a lighter, healthier form. They make for a delightful addition to any gathering, pairing perfectly with a warm cup of tea.
