Mom’s Beer Burgers

Description: My mother used to make these at a concession stand she had rented right by a lake. Some people would come to just eat and not swim. The sauce can also be used for hot dogs, etc.

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 8 ounces ground turkey
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 green pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup catsup
  • 1/2 cup beer

Instructions:

  1. Shape the ground beef and turkey mixture into 8 patties.
  2. Cook the patties as desired, whether it be grilling, frying, broiling, etc.
  3. Meanwhile, heat the butter in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the sliced green pepper and onion to the pan and sautΓ© until they become slightly limp.
  5. Reduce the heat and add the catsup and beer to the pan with the peppers and onions.
  6. Simmer the sauce until the burgers and buns are ready.
  7. Pile the sauce onto the cooked burgers and serve hot.
