Broccoli Beef with Black Pepper

Ingredients

  • 250 grams Beef: Cut into bite-sized pieces.
  • 1 tablespoon Oyster Sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper: Marinate the beef in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
  • 1 large Broccoli Floret: Cut into bite-sized pieces.
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Oyster Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • Salt: To taste.
  • Ground Black Pepper: To taste.
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch: Mixed with approximately 100 ml water.
  • White Sugar: To taste.

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef: Begin by cutting the beef into bite-sized pieces. Marinate the beef with 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper. Allow it to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes to enhance the flavors.

  2. Prepare the Broccoli: While the beef is marinating, prepare the broccoli. Break the broccoli into smaller florets, rinse thoroughly, and briefly blanch in boiling water. Once blanched, quickly cool the broccoli under cold running water and set aside in the refrigerator.

  3. Prepare the Vegetables: Slice the onion and garlic finely. Cut the green and red bell peppers into strips.

  4. Cooking: Heat a medium-sized pan over medium heat and add a splash of oil. Sauté the sliced onion and garlic until fragrant and translucent.

  5. Cook the Beef: Add the marinated beef to the pan and cook until it changes color and is nearly cooked through. Stir in 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper, 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, sugar, and additional salt to taste. Mix well to ensure the beef is evenly coated with the sauces.

  6. Combine Ingredients: Add the blanched broccoli and sliced bell peppers to the pan. Pour in the cornstarch mixture and stir to combine. The cornstarch mixture will help thicken the sauce and coat the ingredients.

  7. Taste and Adjust: Taste the dish and adjust seasoning if needed. Allow the dish to cook for a few more minutes until the sauce has thickened and the vegetables are tender.

  8. Serve: Once the dish is cooked to your liking, remove it from heat and serve immediately. Enjoy this flavorful broccoli beef with steamed rice or noodles.

This Broccoli Beef with Black Pepper combines tender beef with crisp broccoli and sweet bell peppers in a savory sauce. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a hearty meal.
