Teriyaki Black Pepper Chicken
Ingredients:
- 1 chicken breast, bone-in
- 1 onion
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 large red chili
- 1 large green chili
- Butter for sautéing
- 1 packet teriyaki sauce (2 tbsp)
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 packet chicken broth seasoning (Royco Ayam)
- Cornstarch slurry (optional, for thickening)
Instructions:
-
Heat a skillet with a little butter and sauté chopped garlic and onion until fragrant. You can marinate the chicken in teriyaki sauce for 15 minutes beforehand to enhance flavor.
-
Add the chicken to the skillet and stir-fry until partially cooked, then add the green and red chilies. Pour in a little water to deglaze.
-
Stir in the chicken broth seasoning, sugar, and ground black pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
-
If desired, thicken the sauce with a cornstarch slurry. (Note: If you forgot the cornstarch like I did, don’t worry, it still tastes great!)
-
Once everything is cooked through, add chopped spring onions for garnish. Serve hot with steamed rice.
Enjoy this delicious twist on teriyaki chicken with a hint of black pepper, perfect for a flavorful meal any day of the week!
