Perfect Finger Food for Babies Over 9 Months

Buttered Carrots make a fantastic finger food option for babies from 9 months onwards. As your little one begins exploring the world of self-feeding and teething, these bite-sized carrot fingers are the perfect solution. Easy to hold, gentle on teething gums, and full of flavor, they help babies develop their motor skills while enjoying a nutritious snack.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Carrot (Gajjar), washed and peeled
  • 1 teaspoon Unsalted Butter
  • A pinch of Cumin Powder (Jeera)
  • A pinch of Black Pepper Powder
  • A pinch of Salt (optional)

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes

Instructions:

  1. Begin by cutting the washed and peeled carrot into 1-inch wide and 4-inch long sticks.
  2. Add the carrot sticks to a pressure cooker with a pinch of salt and 2 tablespoons of water. Cover and cook for one whistle.
  3. Once the whistle goes off, immediately release the pressure by running the cooker under cold water to stop the cooking process.
  4. Place a pan on low-medium heat and melt the unsalted butter.
  5. Add the steamed carrot sticks to the pan and sauté for a couple of minutes, ensuring the butter coats the carrots evenly.
  6. Sprinkle a pinch of cumin powder or pepper powder over the carrots and, if desired, add a pinch of salt.
  7. Serve these delicious Buttered Carrot Fingers to your toddlers from 10 months onwards as a finger food or snack, perfect for travel as well!
