Tumis Broccoli with Mushroom, Scrambled Egg, and Melted Cheese

Ingredients

  • 1 large head of broccoli, cut and cleaned
  • 5 white button mushrooms, chopped
  • 1 chicken egg
  • 3 cloves of garlic, crushed and thinly sliced
  • 1 scallion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp Kewpie Japanese soy sauce or regular soy sauce
  • Cooking oil, as needed for sautéing
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Quickmelt Kraft cheese, grated, to taste

Instructions

  1. Blanch the Broccoli and Mushrooms:

    • Bring a pot of water to a boil.
    • Add the chopped and cleaned broccoli and mushrooms, blanching them briefly to ensure they are just cooked but still vibrant and fresh.
    • Drain and immediately plunge them into cold water to stop the cooking process and maintain their bright color. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the Aromatics and Egg:

    • In a skillet, heat a small amount of oil over medium heat.
    • Sauté the crushed and sliced garlic and scallion until fragrant.
    • Add the egg and scramble it together with the garlic and scallion, seasoning lightly with salt.
  3. Combine and Season:

    • Add the blanched broccoli and mushrooms to the skillet.
    • Season with additional salt, pepper, and 1 teaspoon of Kewpie Japanese soy sauce or regular soy sauce. Stir well to combine all the ingredients and adjust the seasoning to taste.
  4. Finish with Cheese:

    • Once the ingredients are well mixed and heated through, sprinkle the grated Quickmelt Kraft cheese over the top.
    • Allow the cheese to melt slightly before serving.
  5. Serve and Enjoy:
