Cheesy Chicken Carrot Nuggets Recipe
Ingredients:
- 250 grams ground chicken
- 75 grams cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 large carrot, grated
- 5 tablespoons all-purpose flour (for the mixture)
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (for coating)
- 4 tablespoons tapioca flour
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 eggs
- Sugar, to taste
- Salt, to taste
- Beef broth (non-MSG), to taste
- Bread crumbs, as needed
Instructions:

-
Prepare the Chicken Mixture:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken with the grated cheddar cheese, grated carrot, minced garlic, salt, sugar, and beef broth. Add one egg, the all-purpose flour, and tapioca flour to the mixture. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated and the mixture is smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
-
Steam the Mixture:
- Lightly grease an aluminum bowl or heatproof dish with butter. Transfer the chicken mixture into the bowl, smoothing the top with a spatula. Place the bowl in a steamer and steam for approximately 25 minutes, or until fully cooked. You can test for doneness by inserting a fork; if it comes out clean, the nuggets are ready.
-
Cool and Slice:
- Allow the steamed chicken mixture to cool completely. Once cooled, cut it into nugget-sized pieces according to your preference.
-
Prepare the Coating:
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together the remaining egg with 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt. Set aside.
- Place bread crumbs in another shallow bowl for coating.
-
Coat and Freeze:
- Dip each nugget piece into the egg mixture, ensuring it is well coated. Then, roll it in the bread crumbs until evenly coated. Arrange the coated nuggets in a single layer on a baking sheet or plate. Cover and freeze until solid.
-
Fry and Serve:
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the frozen nuggets until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Serve warm.
