Description:
An excellent side dish that complements all meat, fish, or poultry dishes with its delightful flavors. This recipe is not only delicious but also very easy to prepare. The addition of mozzarella cheese throughout the layers creates a pizza-like side dish, as some of my vegetarian friends have told me. For those on sodium-restricted diets, you can easily adhere to your restrictions by using salt-saltines and low-sodium tomatoes.

- 2 1/4 cups crushed saltines
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
