Ingredients:

Quantity Ingredient
1 Stick of butter
6 Cups of sugar
2 Eggs
4 Teaspoons of vanilla
1 Cup of flour
1 Tablespoon of ground cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoon of salt
2 Ounces of unsweetened chocolate
1/2 Teaspoon of almond extract
8 Ounces of semi-sweet chocolate (chopped)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Line a 9x13x2 inch cake pan with foil, lightly butter the foil.
  3. Fill a saucepan half full of water and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  4. Put butter and unsweetened chocolate in a stainless steel bowl, then place it on the saucepan. Reduce heat to low.
  5. Stir until the mixture is smooth and melted, about 5 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
  7. Add sugar and mix well.
  8. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  9. Add vanilla and almond extract.
  10. In a small bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, and salt.
  11. Add the flour mixture to the chocolate mixture and stir until well combined.
  12. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake until the top is dry but the center is still moist, about 25 minutes. Be careful not to overbake.
  13. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the chopped semi-sweet chocolate over the top.
  14. Let it sit until the chocolate begins to melt, approximately 5 minutes.
  15. Spread the melted chocolate over the brownies with a spatula or knife.
  16. Refrigerate until completely cooled and the chocolate is hard, about 2 hours.
  17. Invert the brownies onto a plate and carefully peel off the foil.
  18. Cut into bars and serve.
