  4. Make the Syrup:

    • In another saucepan, combine brown sugar, water, salt, and pure vanilla extract.
    • Bring the mixture to a slow boil over medium heat.
    • Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until a syrupy consistency forms.
  5. Combine and Serve:

    • Once the rice is done steaming, remove it from the steamer basket and transfer it to a serving dish.
    • Toss the cooked rice with shredded coconut until well combined.
    • Drizzle the prepared syrup over the coconut sticky rice.
    • Serve warm and enjoy!
