Description:
Make ahead and chill well. This colorful salad keeps for several days. Excellent fall and winter salad or side dish. Try it on hot dogs for a tasty change of pace.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups red cabbage, shredded
- 2 cups green cabbage, shredded
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 carrot, grated
- 1 turnip, grated
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup white vinegar
- 1/3 cup wine vinegar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon dry mustard
- 1/2 tablespoon celery seed
Instructions:

Prepare Vegetables:
- Mix shredded red cabbage, green cabbage, thinly sliced onion, grated carrot, and grated turnip together in a large bowl.

- In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar, white vinegar, wine vinegar, salt, pepper, dry mustard, and celery seed.
