Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Sugar Syrup:
    Start by placing the granulated sugar in a small saucepan. Add the orange flavoring and the food coloring, mixing well. Pour in the water and stir to combine. Set the saucepan over medium heat and let the sugar dissolve completely, stirring occasionally.

  2. Stop the Cooking Process:
    Once the sugar syrup is at the desired consistency (around 150°C/300°F), immediately remove the pan from the heat. To prevent it from cooking further, carefully dip the bottom of the pan into a bowl of cold water for about a second. This will help stop the cooking process and stabilize the syrup.

  3. Shape the Lollipops:
    Prepare a silicone baking mat or a piece of parchment paper. Using a spoon, pour small dollops of the syrup onto the surface, forming round shapes. Each round should be about the size of a traditional lollipop.

  4. Insert the Sticks:
    Place a lollipop stick (or an alternative like wooden coffee stirrers or ice cream sticks) in the center of each round while the syrup is still soft and warm. Gently press to secure the stick in place.

  5. Let Them Cool:
    Allow the lollipops to cool at room temperature for at least 40 minutes. The syrup will harden as it cools, giving you perfect homemade lollipops.

  6. Serve and Enjoy:
    Once the lollipops have cooled and hardened, place them on a decorative candy stand or in a jar for a colorful treat that’s sure to delight both children and adults alike.
