Ingredients:
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 2 onions
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 Granny Smith apple
- 1 Pippin apple
- 1/2 green bell pepper
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1-2 tsp fresh ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup curry powder
- 1/4 – 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 3 dashes crushed red pepper flakes
Side Boys Ingredients:
- Grated hard-boiled eggs (some separate the whites and yolks)
- Crumbled crisp bacon
- Chutneys (hot and tart or mild and sweet)
- Finely chopped scallions (mostly whites plus a little green)
- Chopped nuts (peanuts, cashews, almonds, etc.)
- Very small pineapple pieces
- Toasted coconut
- Sliced banana, sautéed in olive oil with a bit of garlic
- Pickled jalapenos, finely minced
Instructions:

- Grate hard-boiled eggs, separating whites and yolks if desired.
- Crumble crisp bacon.
- Prepare chutneys, whether hot and tart or mild and sweet, homemade is best.
- Finely chop scallions, mostly whites with a bit of green.
