  1. Adjust oven rack to lower-middle position and set a large heatproof serving bowl on the rack. Preheat oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Bring 4 quarts of water to a rolling boil in a large Dutch oven or stockpot.

  3. While the water is heating, heat the extra virgin olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering, but not smoking.
