Allison’s Artichoke Dip Recipe
Overview:
🕒 Total Time: 30 minutes
🥣 Yield: 1 bread bowl of dip
Description:
An awesome appetizer for get-togethers, both plain or fancy. This delightful artichoke dip recipe comes straight from the kitchen of my sister-in-law, Allison. It’s a creamy, cheesy blend with a hint of onion flavor that’s perfect for spreading on bread, crackers, or tortilla chips.
Ingredients:
- 1 can artichoke hearts
- 1 package cream cheese
- 16 oz cheddar cheese, shredded
- 16 oz sour cream
- 1/4 onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup butter
Instructions:
Step | Description |
---|---|
1 | Sauté onions: In a large skillet or saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add finely chopped onions and sauté until translucent and fragrant. |
2 | Combine ingredients: Add cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, and artichoke hearts to the skillet with the sautéed onions. Stir well to combine. |
3 | Melt and blend: Continue heating the mixture over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the cheeses are fully melted and the mixture is thoroughly combined. Alternatively, you can microwave the mixture until heated through and well blended. |
4 | Prepare bread bowl: While the dip is heating, prepare the bread bowl. Cut a hole from the top of a loaf of bread and hollow out the center to create a bowl. Save the removed bread for serving alongside the dip. |
5 | Add dip to bowl: Once the artichoke dip is hot and creamy, carefully pour it into the prepared bread bowl, filling it to the top. |
6 | Serve: Serve the artichoke dip in the bread bowl, surrounded by the “scraps” of removed bread, crackers, tortilla chips, or your favorite dippers. Enjoy the creamy goodness! |
