Chicken Stroganoff with Mushrooms
Ingredients
- Chicken fillets: cleaned and lightly coated with flour
- Champignon mushrooms: sliced
- Unsalted butter
- All-purpose flour
- Garlic: minced
- Onion: finely chopped
- Chicken stock
- Cooking cream
- Cayenne powder
- Chopped parsley
- Salt, sugar, and pepper
Steps
-
Prepare the Chicken:
- Heat a mixture of butter and oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the flour-coated chicken fillets until they are fully cooked. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
-
Sauté the Aromatics and Mushrooms:
- In the same skillet, add a bit more butter and sauté the minced garlic and chopped onion until fragrant.
- Add the sliced champignon mushrooms and cook until they release their juices and begin to brown.
-
Create the Sauce:
- Pour in the chicken stock, allowing it to deglaze the skillet.
- Add the cooking cream, stirring continuously to combine.
- Sprinkle in the cayenne powder, and season with salt, sugar, and pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning as needed.
-
Combine and Finish:
- Return the cooked chicken fillets to the skillet, gently stirring to coat them in the sauce. Ensure the cream does not separate by maintaining a consistent stirring motion.
- Sprinkle the chopped parsley over the dish and give it one final stir.
-
Serve:
- Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish.
- Enjoy your Chicken Stroganoff with Mushrooms warm, perhaps with a side of your favorite pasta or rice.
