Peanut Milk Recipe

Peanut milk is a delightful, creamy alternative to cow’s milk, offering a nutty flavor and rich texture that makes it an excellent option for those seeking a non-dairy substitute. Unlike almond milk, peanut milk requires cooking to fully develop its smooth, creamy consistency, making it a perfect beverage for your daily routine.

Cuisine: Continental

Course: Snack

Diet: High-Protein Vegetarian

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Raw Peanuts (Moongphali) 1/4 cup
Water 400 ml
Sugar (or Honey) 1 tablespoon

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 5 minutes

Instructions

  1. Blend the Peanuts: Start by placing the raw peanuts (moongphali) in a blender. Blend on high speed for about 30 to 60 seconds, or until the peanuts are finely ground into a powder.

  2. Cook the Mixture: In a medium-sized pot, combine the peanut powder, water, and sugar (or honey). Stir well to mix the ingredients evenly. Place the pot on the stove over medium heat and cook the mixture for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. The peanut milk will begin to thicken and take on a creamy, milky consistency.

  3. Strain and Serve: Once the mixture has reached the desired consistency, remove the pot from the heat. Use a fine colander to strain out the milk into a clean container. Discard any solid bits of peanuts left in the colander.

  4. Enjoy: Serve the freshly made peanut milk warm or chilled. It pairs wonderfully with healthy snacks such as Healthy Vegetable Paratha Rolls or Chewy Strawberry Muesli Oats Cookies during your tea time or as a nourishing afternoon drink.

Pro Tip: Peanut milk can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Shake or stir before serving as it may naturally separate.
